I fully realize 5A is likely the least interesting class but I follow Morris so here it is.

#8 Chicago (Goode) (8-1) vs. #25 Chicago (Noble/Pritzker) (5-4)

#9 Morris (7-2) vs. #24 Arlington Heights (St. Viator) (5-4)

#4 Chicago (Morgan Park) (8-1) vs. #29 Country Club Hills (Hillcrest) (5-4)

#13 Chicago (Payton) (7-2) vs. #20 Metamora (6-3)

#5 Peoria (8-1) vs. #28 Oak Park (Fenwick) (5-4)

#12 Glen Ellyn (Glenbard South) (7-2) vs. #21 Mascoutah (6-3)

#2 Mahomet (Seymour) (9-0) vs. #31 Ottawa (Twp.) (5-4)

#15 Kankakee (Sr.) (7-2) vs. #18 Jacksonville (6-3)

#7 Peoria (8-1) vs. #26 LaSalle (Peru) (5-4)

#10 Troy (Triad) (7-2) vs. #23 Mt. Vernon (5-4)

#3 Highland (8-1) vs. #30 Dunlap (5-4)

#14 Chicago (Noble/Bulls) (7-2) vs. #19 Mundelein (Carmel) (6-3)

#6 Rockford (Boylan Catholic) (8-1) vs. #27 Decatur (MacArthur) (5-4)

I could not be more pleased with the draw Morris received.
Have to agree Nit...after following Morris for 40+ years I was surprised last night....talk had been about them being in 4A.
I'm sure many are dismissing them totally now after their losses, but still a talented team that could do some exciting things.

Getting ready for a lot of yellow Friday night....don't know what it is about a Morris?LP matchup that gets the flags flying.

Morris losing Friday night benefited them with the draw. Pretty much a cake walk to the quarters.

I think 1-16 ended up more balanced. Sterling vs Naz round 1 and Mahomet vs Kankakee round 2 would’ve been tough. Speer at Marion would be horrible travel.

As far as Morris’s draw, I think Triad would play them closer than a cake walk. The last time they met, it was a pretty close game. But Morris should still be very happy with where they are.

Yes, they did play them close, Form. Maybe not a huge cake walk, but here's my thinking. After giving up 31 pts to Burton and 28 pts to Sycamore, Morris is still only giving up 12 pts per game. Triad was shutout by Highland 35-0. Seems Triad struggles against teams who play good defense.
