Impact Player for Vernon Hills

Vernon Hill senior OL/DL Leonard Peszek (6-foot-1, 230 pounds) is a terrific two way starter and impact player for Vernon Hills. Peszek will continue to draw recruiting looks and attention this remaining summer and fall for the Cougars.

Looking or a sleeper name to watch this fall for Vernon Hills? Vernon Hills junior RB/LB Guiseppe Urso is a hard running and powerful athlete who has developed into a key player on both sides of the football.

EDGY's Preseason Thoughts on the 2024 Vernon Hills Cougars

Vernon Hils and veteran head coach Bill Bellecomo are seeking to snap out of a two year run of 3-6 regular season records over the past two seasons. Vernon Hills head coach Bill Bellecomo has posted a 52-50 overall record in 11 seasons at Vernon Hills and has led the program to the IHSA state playoffs in three seasons.

The biggest question facing Vernon Hills this summer?

Can the Cougars break the 3-6 record streak this fall and find a way to get into the IHSA state playoff field for the first time since the 2021 season? Vernon Hills welcomes back 12 returning starters (6 offense 6 defense) and if this team can merge in and fill some key openings (QB/WR/DL) this summer I can see the Cougars having a decent chance at competing for the Central Suburban North and a state playoff berth.

Preseason Ranking? Not yet.
