Impact Player for Naperville Central?
Naperville Central senior DE Jake Stanish is already verbally committed to Harvard and Stanish had several offers and options from various D1 and FCs schools this summer. Stanish, who is also a talented hockey player will be asked to raise his game and production this fall and will be asked to also be a leader for the Redhawks this season.
Looking for a sleeper name to watch this fall for Naperville Central? Naperville Central senior QB Sebi Hayes (6-foot-4, 220 pounds) is a big, strong and very good quarterback for the Redhawks. Hayes has dealt with injury in 2023 and when healthy Hayes can become a big time player and leader for the Redhawks this fall. Hayes will also draw increased recruiting attention this summer and fall and if he can stay healthy and on the field this fall, he has a chance to play at a pretty high level in college.
EDGY's Preseason Thoughts on the 2024 Naperville Central Redhawks
Naperville Central and head coach Mike Ulreich is looking to build upon it's 2023 8-3 season as the Redhawks win the DuPage Valley conference title and made the Class 8A state playoffs, beating Downers Grove South then losing to Barrington in second round action. Naperville Central head coach Mike Ulreich has posted a 21-11 record in three seasons at Naperville Central and has also led the Redhawks to the IHSA state playoffs in all three seasons.
The biggest question facing Naperville Central this summer?
Can the Redhawks remain at the top of the newly realigned Southwest Valley Red conference and make a deeper run in Class 8A in 2024? The new conference will no question bring some new teams and challenges this season, yet the combination of a strong talented roster and some key up and coming names to watch (including senior WR DeShaun Williams) makes this a very intriguing team in 2024. I feel that Naperville Central has a very winnable conference set up here for now and this Redhawks tam has a chance to be a very nice team to watch this fall.
