Impact Player for Homewood Flossmoor?
Homewood Flossmoor senior DL Cameron Brooks (6-foot-3, 270 pounds) who is already verbally committed to Illinois is an impact player on the Vikings defense. Brooks has a great mix of strength, speed and power and will again be asked to provide leadership and production for the Vikings team with big aspirations this coming season.
Looking for a sleeper name to watch this fall for Homewood Flossmoor? Homewood Flossmoor senior QB Randall McDonald (6-foot-3, 175 pounds) had a somewhat quiet but very good 2023 season for the Vikings. McDonald has a big arm, thrs the football with accuracy and confidence and McDonald is also a dangerous runner in the open field and a potential game changer this season.
EDGY's Preseason Thoughts on the 2024 Homewood Flossmoor Vikings
Homewood Flossmoor and veteran head coach Terrell Alexander is looking to build upon it's 2023 season which had the Vikings posting a 5-5 overall record and making the IHSA state playoff field. Terrell Alexander has posted a 15-14 record in 3 seasons and has also gotten his program into the IHSA state playoff field in two straight seasons.
The biggest question facing Homewood Flossmoor this summer?
Can the Vikings remain near the top of the newly restructured Southwest Valley Blue conference in 2024? Homewood Flossmoor welcomes back an impressive 18 returning starters (10 offense 8 defense) this summer including several multi-year starters back this fall. However, the newly created Southwest Valley Blue conference welcomes in teams from the DuPage Valley conference including the Vikings taking on the likes of Metea Valley, Neuqua Valley and Naperville North in conference play. The schedule no question will be much improved this fall and getting out to a good early start will be big this early season for the Vikings in 2024. I can see the Vikings getting to 5 plus wins this fall and getting back to the IHSA state playoffs again this fall.
