Impact Player for Glenwood?
Glenwood is again stacked this coming season especially at the offensive skills department and welcomes back several key starters from a 2023 squad that posted an 8-4 record in Class 6A. My key here for the Titans is Glenwood senior TE/DE Jonathan Helm (6-foot-4, 191 pounds). Helm will again be a two way starter for the Titans who has impressive ball skills on offense and who is also a key pass rusher in the Glenwood defense this fall.
Looking for a sleeper name to watch this fall for Glenwood? Glenwood junior QB Colten Knoedler had an impressive 2023 sophomore season on the varsity for the Titans and look for Knowdler to have an even bigger year in 2024.
EDGY's Preseason Thoughts on the 2024 Glenwood Titans
Glenwood and veteran head coach David Hay is looking to build upon a 8-4 record in 2023 as the Titans made it to the Class 6A state quarterfinal round before losing to Washington to end the season. Glenwood head coach David Hay has posted an impressive 60-23 record in 8 seasons as the programs head coach. Hay has also led the Titans to the IHSA state playoff field in every season as head coach and the Titans program has missed the IHSA state playoffs just once (2002) since the 1996 season.
The biggest question facing Glenwood this summer?
Can the Glenwood Titans win the always tough Central State 8 conference then make a deep run in the IHSA state playoff field? The Titans again welcome back a really strong core of returning starters this summer and this is a rare team that has lots of varsity experience yet is still somewhat a younger squad. The Titans open the season hosting 8A power Edwardsville and the schedule also features the likes of Rochester and Sacred Heart Griffin. I'm looking for Glenwood to be a CS8 title contender as well as a big time threat in the 6A state playoff field. Looking for a nice sleeper team to watch outside of Chicagoland? The Glenwood Titans could be a really nice choice here.
