Impact Player for Minooka:

Senior QB Gavin Dooley (5-foot-11, 173 pounds). Dooley was involved in a major QB battle last season along with then senior QB Ethan Murphy and Dooley saw significant playing time. Dooley is now the frontrunner under center and is another year older, more experienced and will be asked to provide leadership on the field along with off the field. Dooley will be asked to also help provide plenty of offensive production while a younger Indians defense is allowed to develop this early season.

EDGY's Quick Take on the Minooka Indians:

The Indians (6-5) was able to fight and scrap it's way into the 8A state playoffs in 2021, including a nice Round 1 upset win over York before getting eliminated by Lincoln Way East in Round 2. Minooka under head coach Matt Harding continues to make positive strides as a program, including having now a newer stadium and field turf along with a just renovated weight room. The talent level and overall numbers have always been in place at Minooka, and in my opinion this program remains a sleeping giant in the Southwest suburbs that will someday find it's way to a state football title. Lots of work still needs to get done for 2022, but I look for Minooka to again challenge for the SW Prairie West title and a state playoff spot.
