Impact Player for Sterling
Senior QB Kael Ryan (6-foot-0, 195 pounds) missed the entire 2022 fall season because of a spring season injury, yet don't overlook this name. The Golden Warriors always seem to have a nice mix offensively between run and play action passing game, and Kael Ryan has an impressive arm and the overall physical tools to help kick start the Sterling offense this summer and fall.
EDGY's Quick Take on the Sterling Gokden Warriors:
The Sterling Golden Warriors (7-3) made the Class 5A state playoff field in 2021 and lost to Chicago St Patrick in opening round action. Sterling needed to deal with various injuries last season and just was never able to get it's complete team back towards the end of the regular season. Keep an eye on the offensive skill positions returning starters as keys this coming fall. Sterling will have plenty of firepower and if they can reload in some key spots (OL/DL) this team will again challenge for the WB6 and beyond this fall. Sterling remains one of the real power programs in the Class 5A field.
