Impact Player for St. Ignatius:
Senior DL Justin Scott (6-foot-5, 300 pounds) is already being considered one of the top prospects in the Midwest for the Class of 2024. Scott is already holding multiple Power 5 scholarship offers and will no question be asked to play and contribute on both sides of the football this fall. Scott is a terrific story, a kid who has played football for just a handful of years who will become a top ranked recruit.
EDGY's Quick Take on the St. Ignatius Wolfpack:
The Wolfpack (9-2) had an eye opening season in 2022 as the Wolfpack finished the season with a 9-2 record, and included a huge regular season win over Mount Carmel and close losses to Class 5A state champion Fenwick. St. Ignatius made the Class 6A state playoff field and lost to Crete-Monee in second round action. Look for the Wolfpack to welcome back an impressive 16 starters (8 offense 8 defense) and this team has several talented and experienced names at key positions. Look for St. Ignatius to have staying power in 2022 and will contend for the CCL/ESCC White conference title along with making the state playoff field again this season. The biggest question for St. Ignatius this summer is can they reload a bit upfront on the offensive line?
