Junior RB Javius Catlin (5-foot-8, 175 pounds) has been a varsity starter and a game breaking running back for the E=Tabs since his freshman season. Rockford East head coach Gary Griffin has a handful of talented underclassmen names to watch this fall and Javius Catlin is no question a name on the rise here.

Rockford East (5-5) made the 2021 Class 6A state playoff field, but then lost to eventual 6A state champion Cary Grove in opening round action. The E-Rabs no question will need to reload at several spots this summer, most importantly upfront on the offensive and defensive lines. Yet the skills will be a strength and a key for getting the E-Rabs back into the IHSA stater playoff field in back to back seasons for only the third time in school history.
