Impact Player for Mascoutah:

Senior WR/DB Allen Middleton (5-foot-10, 180 pounds). Middleton, who is also a standout track athlete as well is a threat in all three phases of the game. Middleton, who has been drawing steady recruiting interest and offers at the FBC/FCS level this spring will again be asked to provide major production on both sides of the football this fall.

EDGY's Quick Take on the Mascoutah Indians:

The Indians and head coach Aaron Hilgendorf had another strong season in 2021, posting a 9-2 record while making the Class 5A state playoff field along with winning the Mississippi Valley Conference title last fall. Look for the Indians to again challenge all comers in the MVC along with having a decent shot at become a Top 10 ranked team in Class 5A this coming season. The biggest question for Mascoutah this summer will be can they reload at a handful of key positions (QB/RB/LB_ this summer?

The MVC race should be interesting, I’d bet on a shared title again(last one was Mascoutah/Highland/Triad). Mascoutah probably has the most potential of them all, but I think both Highland and Triad have a big experience edge at core positions.

Wouldn’t count out Waterloo from making some noise either, the Bulldogs went 3-6 last year but lost two games at the last second and finished with more playoff points than anyone in state.
