Impact Player for Marmion Academy:
Senior OL/DL Ivan Erickson (6-foot-6, 265 pounds) is already verbally committed to Illinois State as a defensive end and Erickson will again be asked to start full time on both sides of the football for Marmion Academy this fall. Erickson is a big, strong and highly athletic big man who has the physical tools and potential to make a major impact at the FCS level. Erickson will have a real shot at becoming al All State caliber player this season for the Cadets.

The Cadets (5-5) made the 2021 Class 5A state playoff field and defeated Chicago Nobel Comer in opening round action, then lost to Nazareth Academy in the second round to finish the season. The Cadets and veteran head coach Dan Thorpe will rely early on this season on an experienced defense back this summer (6 returning starters) while the Cadets will need to reload on the offensive side of the football with just two returning starters. Incoming transfer QB Ryan Prell from Glenbard North is a nice addition who will get every change to win the starting QB position, while RB Josh Kim is an experienced playmaker to watch. Can the Cadets reload quickly and not skip a beat this season? That's the biggest question facing Marmion Academy this summer no question.
