Impact Player for Hillcrest:

Senior RB/DB Ajani Rush (5-foot-9, 175 pounds) is a speedy and a high level athlete for the Hawks this coming season, Rush, who also runs track for Hillcrest will no question look to get as many touches as possible this season in the Hawks offense. Rush, who also opened up some eyes this past spring and early summer in various camps and showcase events will continue to draw recruiting looks and attention at the FCS/D2 level this season.

EDGY's Quick Take on the Hillcrest Hawks

The Hawks (5-5) made the 2021 Class 5A state playoff field and lost to Troy in opening round action. The Hawks and second year head coach Kyran Weaver will look to once again reload and make a strong run in the South Suburban Blue conference this fall. The Hawks always have speed and athletes in house, and the biggest question for Hillcrest is can they reload and add more overall depth and numbers to the roster including upfront on the offensive and defensive lines? Look for the Hawks to again make the IHSA state playoff field and to challenge for the South Suburban Blue.
