2022 Team 7on7 or Team Summer Camp?
July 11 - 28, Monday-Tuesday-Wednesday Practice, Thursdays 7 on 7s
Impact Player for Fenwick:
Senior OL/DL Mirko Jaksic (6-foot-3, 270 pounds) is a returning starter and an impact player who will again be asked to provide big time production and leadership for a younger and less experienced team in 2022. Jaksic has been drawing steady recruiting looks and attention this summer and will continue to draw more looks this season.
EDGY's Quick Take on the Fenwick Friars:
The Friars (14-0) won the 2021 Class 5A state football title, the first IHSA football state title in the program's long history. Look for the Friars to reload this summer as the Friars and head coach Matt Battaglia will need to replace a graduated senior class that was stacked with high level talent. The Friars biggest question this summer is who steps up to replace 14 graduated starters, many of who ended up being multi-year varsity starters. Fenwick is encouraged by it's underclassmen group that has some serious talent that will have an opportunity to play full time this fall. Look for the Friars to again contend for the CCL/ESCC White conference title and earn another state playoff bid in 2022.
