Impact Player for Dunlap:
Senior QB Madyn Burke (6-foot-1, 160 pounds) had a very solid junior season in 2021 for the Eagles and Burke will be asked to again provide big production and leadership for the Dunlap offense. Burke looked pretty locked in this July at the Washington 7on7 and this program always has play makers and talent on both sides of the football to watch.
EDGY's Quick Take on the Dunlap Eagles:
The Eagles (9-3) made the 2021 Class 5A state playoff field and lost in opening round action to Mascoutah to end the season. Dunlap and head coach Brett Cazalett has also built up this football program into a consistent winner and a state playoff regular that has also been able to develop some impressive college level names over the years. The Eagles will look towards a pretty solid core of returning starters back for this season including 6 starters back on the offensive side of the football. The biggest question for the Eagles is can they reload at a few key spots on defense (DL/DB) and also add more overall depth this summer? Look for Dunlap to be in the thick of things in the Mid Illini conference race and back into the 5A state playoff field.
