Impact Player for Bloomington:

Senior RB/ATH Marcus Griffin (5-foot-10, 190 pounds) is a speedy and talented all around athlete that has the ability to play multiple positions and has been a multi-year varsity starter for the Purple Raiders program. Griffin will be a handful of deal with and contain for all comers this fall and I expect Griffin to continue to draw steady recruiting looks and attention this summer and fall.

EDGY's Quick Take on the Bloomington Purple Raiders:

The Purple Raiders (4-5) missed the 2021 IHSA state playoffs and has made the IHSA state playoffs just once (2018) since 2013. Bloomington has seen it's overall success slow down after being one of the state's top powers in Class 6A for two decades plus under then head coach Rigo Schmelzer. Look for Bloomington to again challenge for the upper tier of the Big Twelve conference along with getting back into the post-season this fall.
