Impact Player for Andrew:
Senior RB Mike Barberi (5-foot-10, 185 pounds) has been a very solid wingback in the TBolts running game over the past few seasons. Barberi has a nice mix of speed, quick feet and really good overall vision. Look for Barberi to again get a ton of carries for Andrew this coming season.
EDGY's Quick Take on the Andrew Thunderbolts:
The TBolts (4-5) came up just short in getting into the IHSA state playoff field in 2021 with an overall 4-5 record. Andrew had some early close calls in losses to Kaneland (27-24) and Sandburg (12-0) that could have easily flipped the TBolts into the state playoff field. Look for the TBolts and head coach AdaM Lewandowski to rely on an experienced offense while the Andrew defense will need an influx of less experienced player on the defensive side of the football. Again the early regular season schedule will be huge for the TBolts to get off to a quick early start before hitting an always hard SWSR slate. I can see Andrew getting to 5 plus wins this fall and making an IHSA state playoff appearance in 2022.
