Biggest Question facing Ottawa this fall?
Can the Pirates guide it's way through a rough schedule and wins some games this fall? Ottawa and head coach Chad Goss posted an 0-6 record this past spring season. Despite the record, Ottawa did play a handful of winnable games and will also look towards an experienced team this fall which includes 13 returning starters (8 on offense). Also the schedule in my opinion lightens up a bit with the new crossover games with the Kishwaukee conference this fall and should allow Ottawa a decent shot at winning this fall.
Impact Player for Ottawa
Senior QB Braiden Miller. Miller is a good sized kid (6-foot-2, 200 pounds) who also possesses a very solid arm. Miller will be asked to lead the Pirates offense again this fall and look for Miller to continue to draw FCS/D2 level college recruiting attention this summer and fall.
Game to Watch this Fall? Week 2 @ LaSalle Peru
LaSalle Peru was able to beat Ottawa last spring and I'm sure that loss has stuck with this team all off season. The LP/Ottawa game is one of the oldest rivalry games in all of Illinois and is the big game for both schools every season regardless of the records. A win here for Ottawa could serve as a big boost for the Pirates the rest of the regular season.
