Biggest Question facing Kaneland this fall?
Can the Knights reload this fall in a handful of key spots and challenge for the Interstate 8 conference title? Kaneland and head coach Joe Ryan always finds a way to be competitive every season, and in better years they are a dangerous playoff caliber squad. Kaneland truly seems to find a way to reload better than most programs, and while they will have some inexperienced names on defense and in the offensive line, the programs remains strong.
Impact Player for Kaneland:
Senior RB Corey Phillips had a stellar spring season for the Knights and is expected to continue to carry the load of the Kaneland run game this fall. Phillips will no question continue to draw more recruiting looks this summer and fall and has FCS/D2 level potential in my opinion.
EDGY's Quick Take on the Kaneland Knights:
Kaneland has a strong spring season and those two close losses came against two very solid teams in LaSalle Peru and Sterling. The summer will be a huge key for Kaneland in being able to bring a long several new faces on the offensive line and the defense. If Kaneland can survive a very tough first three weeks of the regular season (Andrew/Geneva/Sycamore) they will be very battle tested and ready for the remainder of Interstate 8 conference play.
Game to Watch this Fall? Week 3 @ Sycamore
Sycamore and Kaneland is just a long time old school rivalry game that will be one of the hardest hitting and most physical ball game you'll see all season. The Week 3 showdown will also tell us a lot early on about this Kaneland team.
