Impact Player for Duquoin: Senior RB Lane Bauman. Bauman is the Indians leading returning rusher for Duquoin and was part of a very balanced Indians offense last season. Look for Bauman to play a larger role this season, as Duquoin will be searching for a replacement under center after the graduation loss of QB Alex Zimmerman from the 2019 squad.
EDGY's Quick Take on the Duquoin Indians: The Indians (9-2) had a strong 2020 season but ran into two buzzsaw's in a three week span with losses to Murphysboro (4A state runner up) and Williamsville (4a semifinalist who lost to Murphysboro) to end the season. Look for the Indians to reload this fall behind a good core of experienced starters especially in the offensive skills department. The biggest question for Duquoin? Can the Indians reload in the defensive secondary after graduating 4 starters from a season ago. Regardless, Duquoin remains one of the power programs year in and year out in Southern Illinois in 4A.
