Linked is my Final State Wide 2019 Final Class 6A Top 10 poll. I'll start to break down Class 8A thru 5A Top 10 here and will list each class in a separate thread.

Also I generally use the final 2019 Class 8A thru 5A enrollment numbers/classes at this time of the year before IHSA releases the 2020 preseason class breakdown.

Your preseason thoughts on 6A? Post em here.

Teams On The Edge to Make the 2020 Preseason EDGYTIM Class 6A Top 10 poll

3. Glenwood 12-1
The Titans had a terrific team in 2019 and made it to the 6A state semifinals before running into the East St. Louis machine. Glenwood and head coach David Hay no question has the program headed in the right direction, but can the Titans reload and maintain it's spot at the top tier of 6A this fall? Glenwood brings back just 5 starters (2 offense 3 defense) from a season ago and can anyone step up and replace the leadership and lost offensive production from graduated QB Luke Lehnan?

4. Deerfield 10-3 The Warriors and head coach Steve Winiecki stunned everyone not living in the Deerfield school district in 2019 by making it to the 6A state semifinal round. The Warriors also have a limited amount of experience back this fall (3 starters offense 3 defense) and will also have everyone's full attention this coming season. The Warriors will need to answer the call in 2020 especially early in the regular season and it's first four opponents (Hinsdale South/Grayslake North/BG and Prospect) are all solid opponents.

5. Providence Catholic 8-4- The Celtics from a skills position standpoint will be just fine in 2020 led by senior QB Kevin Conway, junior RB Aaron Vaughn Jr. and senior TE Jameson Geers (Iowa). The Emerald Isle defense will also be fine with 5 starters back this fall along with Jameson Geers getting more PT at defensive end. Biggest question this summer? Can the Celtics reload upfront on the O Line and replace it's entire starting O line from the 2019 season?

6. Richards 10-2- The Bulldogs have had a terrific tuns the last few years and that run has also featured some big time names (Sebastian Castro/LeShon Williams). While the higher profile names might have moved on, the Bulldogs still have talent in the program that will emerge. My biggest question here? Can the Doggies reload on offense and replace 9 graduated starters from a season ago? I fully expect Richards to be the South Suburban Red fav and a state playoff team in 2020...but Top 10 ranked?

8. Lake Forest 7-5 The Scouts are always in the mix in Class 6A, compliments of a very tough regular season conference slate in the North Suburban conference. Senior QB/WR Richie Hoskins is a multi positional talent and look for Lake Forest to always have skills on hand. The defense also will rely on standout LB Mac Uihlein (Northwestern) but can Lake Forest escape the regular season schedule and get into the state playoff field? Once they get in...look out.

9. Lemont 8-3
The Indians and head coach bret Kooi are traditional power in 6A and will most likely end up as a Top 10 ranked team...yet the Indians also have some pressing questions to answer early this summer. Can Lemont get out of the gates quickly this season with a pretty tough first four games to start the year against St. Charles East, Richards, Shepard and Hillcrest? The offense will welcome back just 4 starters (including 2 returning offensive linemen) and 3 starters on defense led by senior LB Al Pontrelli. The Indians always have depth and numbers and look for this team to end up challenging again for the South Suburban Red title. But early Top 10 ranked? Not sure on that right now.
