Bears Unveil New Site for Prep Bowl

I've often heard that the Bears want a new stadium, in part, because their current stadium is the smallest in the NFL at a capacity of 61,500 seats. The proposed new stadium will contain 70,000 seats, which wouldn't even put it in the top ten of current NFL stadiums ranked by number of seats...

A Unique Proposal To End The Publics vs. Privates Debate...Who Says No And Why?

I have long thought that way but, every time I would posit that opinion in forums like these, the public school apologists would start to foam at the mouth.

I understand that QBs are a different breed, and that tradition holds that you want to give rookie QBs space to learn while not under fire, but is that still an absolute these days? What happens if Williams is obviously the better of the two in the preseason? How do they not start Williams in...

The one we just got is only 27, and we got him in a trade, not FA. Gone are the days when teams can afford to groom high draft picks. Groom a fifth round or lower pick if you want, but the Bears just gave up a 5th round pick for this center.

Interesting. The market now for QBs may look very different down the road. If they keep him and pick WIlliams at #1, then they have Fields for two years as a backup or trade bait if they want him. It's not what he would want but, TS, this is a business. Very rare is the season that goes by...

A Unique Proposal To End The Publics vs. Privates Debate...Who Says No And Why?

Congratulations, Peoria Notre Dame, for winning the 2A state championship in girls basketball last weekend, your school's first ever. Indeed, this year, you made it past the quarterfinals in girls hoops for the first time in your school's history. Nice job! Good luck in 4A for the next three...

If the Bears want to discard Fields and then draft Williams #1, what makes you think the Pats (who also have a huge need at QB) would want the Bears' discard plus a #9 pick when they can have their #3 pick of the second or third best QB in the draft?

    Big hire at Rolling Meadows

Although well within Loyola's recruiting radius, it's way closer to Viator. I don't think Loyola gets many kids from there. No idea how well Viator does.

Concessions -- Marist, but only if they still serve Beggars Pizza. Visitor accommodations -- None stick out to me as being worthy of note. TBH, I don't need more than one hand to count the number of stadiums other than Loyola that I have been to in the last 15 years. Gameday atmosphere --...

    Bears

Very interesting take and one that I haven't read anywhere yet. I like it because if they do draft Williams at 1, then they use their next pick to protect him with a stud in the middle and use that second round pick to pick up quality help at WR. Or, if they draft Harrison at #1, then they...

I'd say the Herschel Walker trade between Dallas and Minnesota approaches the Saints-Washington trade in terms of worst ever. Johnson absolutely fleeced the Vikes on that one. Yes, I know it came before the Saints-Washington deal.

Look at the deal the Saints made in 1999 the draft to move up 7 spots in the first round from 12 to 5: They traded their 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th round picks PLUS their 1st and 3rd round picks in the 2000 draft to Washington for the FIFTH pick of the first round so they could get Ricky...

Exactly right, on both counts. If Washington really wants Williams, they would pretty much pay anything for him.
