Congrats to the Hilltoppers on winning the summer state baseball championship. Defeated Naz tonight 3-1. Delasandro went the whole way for JCA. JCA finishes the summer season 20-0. First team in the 37 years of illinois high school summer baseball to go through a season undefeated. Looking forward to a strong couple of spring baseball seasons for the Hillmen.

USD....was the Lockport transfer eligible to play in the summer state tournament?

If that game was any indication, the ESCC should be pretty good next year. One error was the difference between 2 very good teams.

Pjjp, yes. However, he only pitched 2 innings in the 8 tourney games

Naz was very impressive this week especially when you take into account there were with 6 players Monday and Tuesday including (leadoff hitter RF, #2 hitter LF, #5 hitter 2B, champ starter LHP, probably starting CF (injured at FB camp) and IF reserve. LHP Donald Kelly came back from football camp where he banged around with lineman for 4 days and pitched a fantastic game for Nazareth. One extended inning and mistake to a great hitter was the difference. Without Naz trying to stretch a single to a double in the 7th maybe things end differently but credit goes out to JCA. JCA is already an amazing team and played very well last night. Delesandro is absolutely legit and Purdue is getting a good one. Drake Fellows also needs to hurry up and graduate! Nazareth should be a factor with an improved hitting lineup this season and what looks to be two emerging aces coming off the loss of their best pitchers. LHP Donald Kelly can run it up there and strike kids out and RHP Mike Kogut works in the high 80's and can be dominant if he can keep his command. Looking forward to a fun season but first FOOTBALL!

Congrats JCA on continuing to be a giant thorn in Nazareth's side!
