With MC and Loyola winning 7a and 8a, when was the last time one conference had the best two teams in the state?
Yes.are the 7A and 8A champs automatically the two best teams?
*DivisionThis year they are, by both local and national rankings. Not bad for a 4-team conference.
This year yes.are the 7A and 8A champs automatically the two best teams?
Thanks, even more impressive.*Division
Some years the 2nd place 8a team.Just this year or every year?
That’s what I was thinking. Class doesn’t mean everything though. At the risk of being ostracized, I think SHG was better than Naz or Peoria and coulda made things interesting vs anyone. Some years the 2nd place 8a team.
2,1,3 right there.LA and MC are pretty clearly the best in the Chicago area but, in the entire state, I think you have to include ESL and say those three pretty clearly separated themselves from everyone else. Regardless, pretty impressive and unusual that two come from the same division.
Okay but I wanna see east side play mt Carmel next season . I know they played in 17 and 18 but eside wasn’t as good back then .That’s what I was thinking. Class doesn’t mean everything though. And apparently 7A champs Mt Carmel is 1 and 8A champs Loyola is 2…?
I don't think Lemont or Edwardsville keep a game close vs MC this year. Loyola completely dismantle an Edwardsville team before letting off the gas in the 2nd half being up 35-0. ESL was up 6-0.Cal preps has MC by 4 against ESL on a neutral field for whatever that’s worth. It’s a shame they can’t play most years, would be an incredible revival.
I don’t think MC was as good those years as it is this year either.Okay but I wanna see east side play mt Carmel next season . I know they played in 17 and 18 but eside wasn’t as good back then .
Right!😂🤣As long as ESL continues trophy shopping in 6A they cannot be considered as the best. Not my logic.
The old, reliable, transitive theory applied to common opponents… We could do the reverse, how would La/MC fare against Creekside, Georgia and Saint Francis?I don't think Lemont or Edwardsville keep a game close vs MC this year. Loyola completely dismantle an Edwardsville team before letting off the gas in the 2nd half being up 35-0. ESL was up 6-0.
Applying MC 63 logic here, I see.As long as ESL continues trophy shopping in 6A they cannot be considered as the best. Not my logic.
Didn't SHG do better vs Providence than Loyola?
The Plato of this boardApplying MC 63 logic here, I see.
