Regardless of the circumstances, we had football this past weekend. So, because it’s what I do, we clearly learned something.......

1 - That Lw-Beast has found another beast in the backfield.
2 - That your grandfathers Lake Zurich isn’t what your fathers are watching today.
3 - That long Field Goals in High School football are still really cool especially when they bounce on the cross bar from 52.
4 - That Mt Carmel things are a problem for other teams things.
5 - That a kid making his first varsity start at QB can have a HOF type of game - not literally of course but 7 TD’s is a thing at any level.
6 - That Warren has a two-headed monster at RB ago go with their 3-headed monster at QB.
7 - That Bostik stuck just fine for Palatine.
8 - That Maine South sophomores combined with Bartlett freshmen would make the ultimate team.
9 - That their is still a certain appeal to Saturday afternoon football. GBW has gotten it right.
10 - That it looked, felt, smelled (ew) and was football. Forget the protocols - it was football like any other Friday night.

I’m off to the beach. Newt, out.

Warren Township ... the home of six flags has reloaded. Best RB combo in state ... 2 next level RB's in backfield. The defense is more athletic. Malachi McNeal deserves strong NSC MVP & All State consideration. Tommy Matheson is dominant on both sides of the Ball. 7 Sophomores playing significant minutes. The off season work is showing up. Look forward to Stevenson game next week. 🙏🏽🎢👀🏈

Aren't we getting a little ahead of ourselves? They have played one week of football.

12. That Steve Soucie borrowed Newt’s headline!

That St. Rita LB Michael Gaughan continues to ensure his name gets mentioned with the likes of former St. Rita LBs Zavagnin, Foley, Kingsbury, Fleming and Hopkins.

And he's going to play Division 1 Lacrosse on the East coast. Such a shame it's a shortened season. But I'm happy the seniors at least get to play. Michael Gaughan is well deserving to be on your list.
