This is when things get real. Everyone that is still playing deserves to be here. No easy games from here on out. This is a special fun time for the teams and the fans.
Good luck to all the programs involved. Know you’re all deserving and it will be fun watching how it all unfolds regardless of what class you’re in. Go Illinois!

Nothing new just glad the quarters are here. I know many on here are not happy with the blowouts. I agree and just like to see more competitive games. It’s getting down to only the best teams are still playing at this point. I believe 4Afan said it doesn’t matter if you play a team in the first or second round if you win you move on regardless. I myself have no problem with LWE playing LA in the semifinals if it works out that way. If East wants to win a championship they have to beat the best. Same as every other team still playing regardless of class.
Good luck to all the teams. They are all deserving.

Obviously, every team still alive deserves to be playing. My point ... some had a much easier path and there are still some blowout games out there.

Worst part about quarters is the limited Friday night games.
I feel like there are way more this year than before. I also don't understand the 1A thru 4A games not being on Friday when that's what day they will play if they go to state.

I guess you guys never consider travel requirements for a lot of teams during 5 weeks of playoffs. Not to mention the strain on their fanbases to make a game 250+ miles away on a Friday night.

I understand that side of it. But all 16 of those games fall under that?

Saturday is playoff game day, that's something I'm fine with. I like the Saturday afternoon contests...

For you, maybe I'd start by asking those in the Chicagoland area first. Shortest distance between any two schools class 1A-4A is St. Laurence @ DePaul, being played Sat @ 1pm...??? How many Chicago area folks would complain about Friday games if having to fight traffic at rush times to make an early Friday start? I'd have to guess it's about equal to the people who'd be complaining about Friday night kickoffs for a 5 hour round trip in the first 3 rounds...

1A
Galena ---> LeRoy : 227 miles
Gibson City ---> Lena-Winslow : 205 mi
Casey-Westfield ---> Althoff : 137 mi

2A
Farmington ---> Dwight : 113 mi
Bismarck ---> Palos Heights : 116 mi
Pana ---> Johnston City : 126 mi
Quincy ---> Morao : 160 mi

3A
Lombard ---> Princeton : 104 mi
Wilmington ---> Pecatonica : 144 mi
Nashville ---> Tolono : 154 mi
Benton ---> Monticello : 174 mi

4A

Dixon ---> Coal City : 93 mi

Well that answers my question! StL and DePaul definitely should be Friday night. I could argue Camp Point game as well
