Again it's been a really strange year and several different factors will impact the selection......wondering who you feel are candidates for Illinois Player of the Year?

Post em here.

He was mentioned on the podcast already...Pemberton at Loyola is the PoY IMHO...he's been dominating the CCL Blue all spring...Holecek at Loyola says he's the most special player he's coached at the RB position...that goes a long way in my book coming from a coach like that...and as a senior already committed to play at the next level, he still chose to play...

Offensive Player of the Year- Vaughn Pemberton Loyola

Defensive Player of the Year- Austin Haygood Mount Carmel. D1 product and All State in 2019 is coming off a hip procedure and playing through a stress fracture and you can’t tell because he’s completely dominating. Old school tough Linebacker

OPOY
You'd be hard pressed to find a kid who's been more electric than Trevor Hudak from Minooka. He's shown that he can he can score from anywhere on the field, at any time. Not sure how many total TD's exactly, but has scored rushing, receiving, punt return, and KO return. He's special!

Sorry dad - Competition matters. Vernon Hills had a chance to show the type of team they have by playing Maine South in week 6. If you want to be a champion, you need to beat the champion.

Jacob DuRocher Rochester RB.
747 yards rushing, 125 receiving, and 16 TD’s. Became Rochester’s career rushing leader in Week 3 and will likely end Week 6 with the 3rd most rushing yards in CS8 history.

Malachi McNeal should get consideration for player of year but definitely Defensive player of the year. He is the leader on the best defense in state. Home of six flags 🎢

Jordan Anderson from JCA finished with 1080 yards on 84 carries (13 yard per carry) and 18 TD's. He is definitely in the conversation for player of the year. He will be a load in the fall!

Justin Johnson Junior, Eville, 860 yards rushing - 118 against ESL - and 16 TDs, a 2PAT and a passing TD while going 4/4 in the air.
He added to that with the season finale against East Side, running for 205 yards and four touchdowns for 1,065 yards and 20 TDs this spring.

That said, Master Pemberton of Hollywood seems to be the clearcut OPOY and the Gaughan lad from Reeters the DPOY.
