Number of Playoff Teams

Another year of many lobsided first round games.

Again, why do we still have 8 classes with 32 teams in each? It's a waste of time.

Go back to 6 classes.
I recall many times then there were blowouts.Even in only 5 classes and no CPS teams

I don’t understand the point of all this go back to six classes nonsense. There are plenty of blowouts in championship games. There are plenty of blowouts in semifinal games ect. What difference does it make!? The current playoff system allows for teams from really tough conferences to still enter the playoffs with a 5-4

also, all this separate the private and public nonsense. I for one am really looking forward to the challenge of Saint Iggy VS Prairie Ridge next week. I think that will be a fantastic game. I have watched a lot of private versus public games that were phenomenal.

quit whining about unfair and get a better coaching staff.

In 5a, 6a, 50% of the 2nd round games ended in blowouts (4+ scores). 5/8 games in 8a.

1a, 5a and 6a still had half of their quarterfinal games end in blowouts

For everyone who is complaining about lopsided games, what an appropriate margin of victory in the 2nd rd? And how many games should we expect to fall within that margin?

6 classes would remove some fodder but you’d also lose teams like Providence. Pretty content with the way it is besides 1-32 seeded in all classes.

"... get a better coaching staff". Wow, who would have ever thought of that? Apparently not those who would rather whine!

It gets a lot of kids at least an extra week, and builds excitement for their schools- what's the harm. Like, if you asked the Maine West team if they'd rather lose 41-10 or not play a 10th game. .. I can guarantee you to a kid they'd rather play.

Really it's more about that and their experience than whether or not we think there's too many mismatches.
