New Brother Rice head coach is named

I assume you mean regular students, not necessarily football players. Why do they leave, and where do they go? The neighborhood can't be worse than it was in '66. About a dozen of us took the 63rd St. bus, which needed a police escort through Blackstone Ranger territory.
There’s a lot of movement going on now within the catholic school ranks. a Ton of underclassmen(football) transferring from one catholic school to the next catholic school

Tucker Miller - Marist to MC to LWC
Never played a down for MC in the Spring. Got a high ankle sprain before the season. To be honest I never heard of him before he came to MC so Im not disappointed by this...Maybe third times a charm...

I think the one from MC realized with a junior starting this year and a highly touted incoming freshman likely to be on Varsity as a Soph in 2022 that he might be odd man out. Common tale. I don't think he is an upgrade from what BR has at the position already, unless one of them transferred out.

I wonder what MC's enrolment would be if they flipped campuses with BR. How many of the non athletes from BR would make the move. Mc would lose some from Indiana because of the ease of using the train. How many suburban moms would drive to BR if it was on the East side? Wonder how many young men would be going to MC or SR if they were both located on Pulaski?

This is the kind of question you ask in your dorm room after a few beers and a joint.

Might as well flip the North Side (who would go to Iggy, Pats DePaul, LA, ND) and the South Side while you at it?

Just ask who would go to a still- Rogers Park based Loyola Academy or a still- West Loop St. Pats? What if Weber followed the bulk of its alums and legacies out W, NW or even N and relocated whilst the 2 I mentioned stayed closer to the lake?

St. Pat's and Notre Dame will both be hurt with DePaul's new Campus.

Imagine if some rich alumni bought that unused Lincoln Way school for MC or SR. What would their enrolment be? DLS, MC, SR are all kind of in the same mold with City kids. If MC or SR moved to the LW campus how would there general student population change?

I know this thread kind of took a left turn, but I heard from a CCL coach the the BR coach will be the highest paid coach in the CCL/ESCC in the vain of Frank Lenti. Also he will have a budget on par with what Frank had. Will his pay will be close to MS's Dave Inserra's? With his bio he couldn't have come cheap.

You would probably have a flood of players early from suburban moms and dads who are not familiar with Catholic league competition and think their little Johnny (Doe?) from the local youth league can start. After a while it would level out. However, with Marian Catholic and Providence down from their peaks, it might draw some athletes from the public schools out in those I-57/I-80 corridors. Just MHO.

I think whoever's is really interested has already picked amongst the Catholic schools up north. You might cave in Marian (or turn it fully to SFDS/BNI South), and pull some Andrew/TP/Orland kids, with the non-mover of the 2 hypotheticals getting the B-MG and SWC parish kids. Perhaps BR approaches it's old #s without the 1 close on-the-way to downtown or the precinct option.

Did Providence pickup a lot of kids in Rich Twp, in the past or today? Did Marian ever get kids from the old LWN territory - do old school Heights people move out both E and W?

Judging by what has happened to Providences enrollment, I dont think it would help that much.

In my lifetime, I would really like to see what would happen if just one of the Catholic high schools from the City of Chicago would relocate out southwest somewhere between Marian Catholic and Provi.

Why? What would this tell you?
Ever since that ill-fated rumor of decades ago involving Leo coming out to Orland Park, the idea just got stuck in the back of my head!

I highly doubt it he is the highest paid public school coach in the Chicago area the guy who was close to him was Muhitch at WWS.
Lenti's compensation was on par with the MS head coach. Just guessing the new guy at BR did relocate here for entry level money.

How does a private school afford $150k?
Alumni support. There is an annual fund raiser besides the what the student's family have to raise. Depending on the school the cost of tuition is several thousands short of what it costs to educate each student. I think the LA and SR head coaches are also making decent money. As a MC grad I send a modest check each year to the school like many alumni.

BR might have the most salary committed to the FB and Basketball coaches, both over $100

Didn't Michael Jordan drop a big check on LA when his kid was there?
