Last night, the school board approved the hiring of Mike Jezioro to replace the retiring Dan Jones. Jezioro has been the AD at South Elgin for the last 5 years.

South Elgin seems to be launching pad for ADs to go to other school districts.

ADs are pretty limited to how much they can really do in Illinois do to tenure laws. It is not like you can fire a football coach and all his assistants, then have a bunch of teaching jobs to offer new hires.

depends a lot on the district and school board support.

the biggest role a good AD at a public school plays is getting appropriate funding from principal and board. Eg a dedication strength coach, assistant coaches at freshman level, appropriate travel budgets etc
