Quarterback Jonas Williams not getting the recognition he deserves
The Lincoln-Way East junior has flown under the radar despite being an Oregon commit.

In words of one syllable...NO.This article is a head scratcher here. Starting quarterback on top 8A team in the state? Headed to No 1 team in nation. Am I missing something?
Yeah Scoop is a basketball guy. I was very confused by this article. Not getting enough props? He needs to stick with covering basketball.I read that article this morning. If he he is not getting recognition, tell me why he is going to Oregon? I have read several of that writer's articles. I will just say he has an "edge" and that is all I will say.
Msybe but it’s not like he’s committed to Minnesota or someplace like that.I have a feeling he will "flip" his commitment. They all seem to flip commitments now. Commit early, put up great numbers, get huge NIL offer from another school and Flip. This is the College game now
I know but it just seems to be the norm. Will Oregon get a transfer though like they have the last two seasons with Nix and Gabriel? Probably. It's almost better to commit to Minnesota, do great and then transfer. How many 4 or 5 star QBs commited to ND to see their chance leap frogged by Sam Hartman now Reilly Leonard....it's gotta change.Msybe but it’s not like he’s committed to Minnesota or

Phil Knight money ... how do you think they are number 1 now?I have a feeling he will "flip" his commitment. They all seem to flip commitments now. Commit early, put up great numbers, get huge NIL offer from another school and Flip. This is the College game now
Absolutely. Dave Portnoy said he would flip the bill for Michigan to get a QB and they just had a 5 Star flip to them yesterday from LSU. This is why I like High School....even with the transfer rate going up there too the NIL hasn't taken control of it.....yetPhil Knight money ... how do you think they are number 1 now?
He had offers from Alabama, Ohio State and just about every major college in the country. Maybe he flips but I don’t see why. Oregon seems like the perfect fit. They pass a lot and they like a running QB. In any case he has options and is a really good player/Athlete that will be fine. If you haven’t seen him play live you will be in for a treat.I know but it just seems to be the norm. Will Oregon get a transfer though like they have the last two seasons with Nix and Gabriel? He's legit and well deserved. It just seems to be the trendHe had offers from Alabama, Ohio State and just about every major college in the country. Maybe he flips but I don’t see why. He had to be a contributing factor to building the Oregon "brand," which has become much more national in appeal (FB uniforms/helmets included) to fans and athletes. The track & field program does not seem to be experiencing a needed bump, however.Phil Knight money ... how do you think they are number 1 now?
Bottom line the state has to do better with recruiting the state.Ignorant take in this article.
The fear of a C.J. Stroud/Jordan Love planet. Triplets in looks, personality and play. A “Got Next” one coming straight outta Frankfort. Future shockin’ like if the Bears haven’t made an extension, picked up the fifth-year option or made a clear decision on Caleb Williams by 2029; we could be looking right now at the player who could one day be for them what Jalen Brunson should have been for the Bulls coming straight outta Lincolnshire.
Maybe . . . naw, why go there? Forgive, I already did.
Realistically, I think both NW and UofI do they best they can as things have gotten better with that in recent years. Also, neither of those teams are getting the money it takes to play the best of the best year in and year out in today's college landscapeBottom line the state has to do better with recruiting the state.
It could have been worded better but IMO we often pass up on the great talent in the state, now realistically, neither Northern or Illinois would’ve had a chance of keeping Jonas let’s be real!

Good post Bones. I will add the Williams family made the right choice moving to Frankfort. Jonas is thriving with this program. This will be his biggest stage tonight and I have a feeling he is going to show the world who he is. You remember the game Jonas played as a freshman against East. I remember telling you I was nervous because he was lighting East up. The Defense let Bolingbrook down in that game. They had East on the ropes until around late 3rd quarter. We need to appreciate Jonas more TBH. How close is he to breaking the total TD record? I remember thinking earlier this season that it could fall this year. This is with no playoff TDs prior to this season.
