So I will be the first to admit that I’ve never seen an argument I didn’t have an opinion on or shied away from. We can argue about where the best football in the USA is played, or what’s fair with public vs private, or how we should handle transfers…but there is one thing that is UNDENIABLE!

Edgytim has created the BEST site for High School football anywhere in this great country and I would argue that he probably has one of the best sites on any system regarding Football PERIOD!

Edgy here’s to you and the past 20 years we’ve talked, argued, or just straight up enjoyed ourselves.

THANK YOU!

I've been here from the beginning and really appreciate all Edgy has done for high school football over the years. This board not only has allowed me to discuss/argue high school football, it has also allowed me to meet some great people. Thanks Tim.

Amen! In speaking of opinions and arguments have we ever gotten into which side dish is the best on Thanksgiving Day? Seems like that is a thread that could stand up against that of a public vs private!

Thanks Edgy!
In the northeast where I’m originally from we’d say Turnips but we really do mean Rutabagas; boiled with a lil bit of cane sugar, mashed with butter and covered in turkey gravy. Mmmmmmmmmm so good!

My people call them turnips as well. Boil ‘em, mash them with butter. Grill some diced onions, chop up some bacon, more pepper than salt and pan fry them and let them forment a bit before serving. I call it Irish soul food cuz it’s good for the soul. Thank me later. I will try them your way as well. The turnip/ rutabaga is a very under rated and under appreciated food.

There's really no debate, the answer is stuffing. Any other answer is just plain wrong.

Many thanks to Edgy and all that he provides for us and all that he puts up with from us!

Really? Wet bread with spices is the best? No way.

Now homemade cranberry sauce... not that crap in a can you slice... that is where Thanksgiving dinner becomes a holiday. Even better on Friday.

Good Mac and Cheese has become my favorite side.

I think we could debate whether mac n cheese is a Thanksgiving side for days.

It never was when I was growing up but I have added it to our Turkey day spread now that I host.
Agreed I think were past the point of Mac n Cheese integrated into Thanksgiving feasts lol! If not what are you waiting on? Personally I can skip the turkey!!

I can definitely appreciate that but personally I'm a traditionalist for Thanksgiving dinner so when my cousins wife brings pasta salad I politely ignore it.

The days that follow, all bets are off. Using leftover cranberry sauce (homemade only) as sammich lube on a fresh potato roll with turkey and stuffing is great stuff. Once the turkey runs low I'll throw some slices of summer sausage from the snack table on a bun with some cheese and go to town. For someone who loves leftovers, Thanksgiving is as good as it gets.

Speaking of Thanksgiving dinner, why in God's name is it the only meal we eat all year that starts at 2pm?

I’m sorry but Mac n cheese can’t be thanksgiving. If it is I’m not friends no more. Cranberry 🤢

I love a good Jambalaya. My Italian grandma would make the whole traditional spread but also expected everyone to ‘mangia il primo’ usually consisting of her homemade raviolis.

I’d give anything for one more of those thanksgivings or Sunday afternoon dinners.

For the first time in my 75 years. Thanksgiving this year will be just me and my wife. Once my mom passed in 2019, the impetus among my far flung sibs and their families for a big central gathering back in thr old home town pretty much faded.

We are going to roast a capon and have the "fixins" but otherwise it looks like any other day in the life.

I am with you and totally understand. We spend Thanksgiving and Christmas with my son and his family. When my younger son past the holidays are tough. My wife can’t do the big holidays and so our sons family handles it and gets us through it. 😞
