I honestly couldn't see him going anywhere else. Boston and the NYY weren't going to offer that kind of money. The Nationals finished only 2 games ahead of the Phillies last year. Should be interesting when they play each other this season.
I was hoping the Sox or Cubs signed him so my daughter could have her name on the back!
Baseball to me has a couple of big problems that make the game boring.
One is pace of the game and second it's a no contact sport.
What should they do? Just add a couple of rules would really improve the game...
1. Once a hitter enters the batters box, he must stay there for the entire at bat.
2. Once the catcher catches the pitch, a 20 to 25 second pitch clock begins for the pitcher to release the next pitch in that allowed time.
Add Contact
Allow catchers again to block the plate. Allow runners again the ability to run over catchers blocking the plate.
These few rules would truly improve the game of baseball.
