Probably notThat would be a great game.
I really hope that this was discussed between the two schools ahead of being thrown out on Twitter.
Of course it wasn’t. I believe MC schedule is set for next year, just hasn’t been released. Of course some people will say we ducked them and say MC was scared, but instead of reaching out directly, they went this route. Easy pickings for off season trash talk, enjoy! That would be a great game.

Who knocked the heavily favored Flyers out of the playoffs in 2017 and 2018? ESL hasn’t beaten MC since the Regan administration in 87.Would be great if this happened but Mc is just gonna keep ducking and claim they’re the best team in the state from their echo chamber like the always do
You said it yourself in 2017 and 2018.. it’s about to be 2023 . Eastside a different beast nowadays and they will be even better next year . Talk is cheap and Eastside is willing to play anybody in the country. Can’t say the same for mt carmelWho knocked the heavily favored Flyers out of the playoffs in 2017 and 2018? Does anyone really care if EStl is willing to play anyone in the country? What is their record against out of state teams that aren’t from St Louis area? EStL can say they are willing to play anybody they can’t say they beat them. You said it yourself in 2017 and 2018.. it’s about to be 2023 . It's cute that he says MC is ducking people.Would be great if this happened but Mc is just gonna keep ducking and claim they’re the best team in the state from their echo chamber like the always do
It is difficult to make the case that Mt. Carmel is ducking people when they play in the toughest conference in the state, which of course means playing Loyola every year. Marist, St. Rita and Brother Rice are no soft touches either. Plus, they can pretty much count on meeting the best the DuKane Conference has to offer every year in the playoffs, which is another top Illinois conference.

They almost beat st Francis.lost because of a bad snap on a punt . Saint Francis is the 11th best team in the nation so ..Does anyone really care if EStl is willing to play anyone in the country? That doesn’t mean they do not duck people. They have no control over who they play in conference or the playoffs. They do control who they play in non conference games. They played Phillips the last 2 years. Not the same Phillips as pre-Covid.It is difficult to make the case that Mt. They also played St Rita in non con, when you are in a top tier conference non con schedules can become tricky since you are always facing teams that can beat you. Schools like EStL and Maine South have the luxury of playing in traditionally weak conferences so a loss in non con isn't big deal since they have 6 or 7 gimmies in conference. That doesn’t mean they do not duck people. They were when MC scheduled a two year home/away deal with them in 2020 when McCalister was still coach. Phillips also made the quarterfinals in 2021. MC plays in the toughest conference in the State, they don’t duck anyone. If they wanted MC to play in their showdown the AD’s should have worked this out weeks ago like it’s properly done, not some Tweet on social mediaThat doesn’t mean they do not duck people. Only have 5 conference games and Eville and OFallon aren’t gummies. So basically 2-3 games of a 9 game schedule can be considered easy games. How many crossovers do the CCL have? They also played St Rita in non con, when you are in a top tier conference non con schedules can become tricky since you are always facing teams that can beat you. Playing in the “toughest conference” doesn’t mean you aren’t ducking anyone. Their conference plays 3 games and a bunch of crossovers. It is not like they are have 7 weeks of competitive conference games. Also was it ducking when they chose to drop down to a lower division for a few years? Or not petition up like others have? They were when MC scheduled a two year home/away deal with them in 2020 when McCalister was still coach. Phillips also made the quarterfinals in 2021. Pretty sure 8 of the 9 opponents MC played this year made the state playoffs. St. Laurence was the only opponent that didn’t make it. East saint LouisWho exactly, is Mt Carmel ducking?
Based on what? A tweet by a coach?East saint Louis
Y’all been ducking lol but I digressBased on what? A tweet by a coach?
If you want to go that route, we can also say ya’ll are ducking a matchup with MC by not moving up the 7A or 8AY’all been ducking lol but I digress
Gimme a break. It's not a question of disrespect. Call the MC AD up on the phone or reach out via email. That's the way it's done. Don't do it in public.Coach sunk also didn’t mean any disrespect by tweeting that out so I don’t know why people are so mad about it . He just wants to play the best teams
Everyone has an opinion which is fine. In the end, the two AD's are discussing the potential matchup.Gimme a break. It's not a question of disrespect. Call the MC AD up on the phone or reach out via email. That's the way it's done. Don't do it in public.
Social media is not the way you schedule games. Putting it out there for everyone to see smacks of trying to co-opt MC into a game. If MC can't schedule a game that weekend, what is MC supposed to do, reply to the tweet with a "sorry, can't make it" tweet of their own?
Not good.
MC is in 7A only and neither team won in 17 or 18 therefore neither team was championship materials in those years. On the flip side, both won in 19 and 22.If you want to go that route, we can also say ya’ll are ducking a matchup with MC by not moving up the 7A or 8A
