Don't have much to say about yesterday's game other than Sycamore was as good as advertised.

I was impressed with what great shape the (natural grass) field was in at Sycamore, especially for November 12th. Kudos to whoever the "sodfather" is at Sycamore.

From what I gathered yesterday after my comment it’s the shortest, driest, most well maintained field in the entire state. To suggest anything else is purely creating a narrative.

Throwing out the suggestion that Sycamore would pull some gimmicky move like growing their grass out and bog it all down for some sort of advantage is creating a narrative. It's fine to talk about the game, what advantages each team has, what they need to do to win, etc... but when you bring the gimmicky stuff, you're going to get called on it when it's very far from the truth.

Not knowing anything about Sycamore, their field, program, etc... is normal for schools/fans who never trek out there and asking questions on a free message board is usually a good place to start. You implied Sycamore would pull some gimmicky crap and were educated by those who are in the know of Sycamore 🤷‍♂️. And no, I'm not a Sycamore fan or associated with the program in anyway

Kudos to you and the Sterling faithful. Always gracious in victory and defeat

This is so soft. Teams do in fact grow the grass out or water it just a little bit extra for certain games and there’s nothing wrong with that. They are the higher seed and they’re hosting they can manicure their grass however they want.

Correcting an incorrect statement is soft? Schools absolutely will grow grass out and do that kind of stuff, however, Sycamore has never been known for that. Watching the Sterling broadcast yesterday, the Sterling announcers commented how Sycamore's field looks like Turf. Here's a picture, looks pretty nice as stated by the Sterling Folk

Syco Field

I'll take a step back, arguing about the field conditions of a midwest school is the very definition of first world problems.

i will say this one time - when the grass is cut short or left to grow long, when the field is dry or "watered down", it's the same for both teams.

I made a comment that the sprinklers I’m sure will see some extra run time. I was told that would not be the case and I explained that I thought that would be a missed opportunity because it IS an advantage that Sycamore as the higher seed and home team could have this weekend. If Naz was hosting and had all natural still I’m sure there would be a rotation of dads mowing that field everyday and standing out there with umbrellas to keep it as fast and firm as possible because it would benefit the speed of the roadrunners.

While conditions such as snow and rain and wind and wet fields are the same for both teams, it’s silly to suggest that some teams are not built to better handle those conditions.

So, as to not ruffle anymore feathers I will discuss it from a more approved angle and say…

should the field for whatever reason this weekend be soft, thick or wet, it will prove to be an additional home field edge for the Spartans Than if it were to be wet and bushy.

Except Sycamore is probably faster than Naz after watching that broadcast. They'd be hurting themselves.

Ahh the good ole days! I can still smell the swampy stench that would linger on your skin especially when it got really wet.
