Its not really my thing, but lemont does themselves no favors with their haters with some of the pre game and in game interactions with their fans.

True…in THIS thread I did. If you go back for the last three or four weeks of playoff chats it has been the ESL following questioning if the best team in Illinois existed outside the Southern segment. Just following up weeks later. It’s out there.
LHSTTigers94 ironically that convo of best teams did not even include LWE. It was in regards to Chicago area Catholic schools and Loyola Catholic.
Name one fan base out of lwe, la, mc who doesnt think they are the best team in the state?
Understood but it’s irrelevant as 16 teams fought hard to get to this point! State Championships are on the line for their class and that’s all that matters right now. Everyone should be focused and proud!
If undisciplined get you to your 3rd straight State Championship game I think some others should follow. People are too funny.
I’ll clarify. I’m a huge ESL supporter. One of my favorite teams that i have no association with to support. I love what they do at East Side, but to see such elementary football mistakes make it tough to watch. Literally 2 minutes to go on the punt I’m referring to, the punter got off a low fast punt and instead of letting it roll one of their players caught it and gave Lemont an extra 15-20 yards at least. I hope they win state every year, and they should, but there has to be a way to clean up undisciplined play.
I think @flyerforlife would agree based on his posts in this thread.

Its not a good football play, but you always have to remember these are sometimes 14 and 15 yo kids playing for a chance to go to state. I dont think that play is a good example of being undisciplined.
Now when your starting mlb gets ejected for taunting or your AA lineman keeps blocking guys 10 or 15 sec after the whistle, thats the type of plays they need to clean up and be more disciplined on
Disagree with this the Flyers return all skilled on offense and return at least 7 or 8 or defense. They have several bigs waiting in the wings good luck to you and yours

Teams rebuild/reload every year. I don’t know how many times I’ve eaten crow saying CG wouldn’t contend and I never saw last year’s title coming. This kind of seems like a personal beef with ESL. How about we talk about the season at hand?

Well, think again. You’re wrong. The ESL faithful have no interest in something that just can’t be proven. We have “four (4) FOUR” games that can now be scheduled in the regular season since both Collinsville and Granite City left the conference. In the three seasons since they exited, ESL has scheduled Batavia, Naperville Central, Neuqua Valley, Trinity Catholic (Former MIssouri powerhouse), CBC (Missouri Powerhouse), DeSmet (Missouri Powerhouse), St. John Bosco (National Powerhouse), IMG (National Powerhouse), St. Francis-MD (National Powerhouse), and Creekside-GA (Georgia Powerhouse) having mixed results in scoring but always looking to get better from the challenge. The weather is great for everyone in August and September and most players are healthy. If you’re so hell-bent on proving this, have your AD to respond to/contact ours. I can meet you at the 50 and we can enjoy the matchup together.

Lemont is the "real deal" but the soph rb who ran for 340 yards against them is average? smh. I have serious doubts you watch hs football with any real semblance of what is going on after these last two comments.

ESL has and always will have multiple weapons. The QB is great and the young running backs are going to be special.
Driving north today to spend pre-Thanksgiving with my girls. As I got to a certain South suburb, and I audibly had to read out, Lee Mont Road.
A couple of weeks ago, a western IL team supporter on a thread was warning the Lemont faithful they would be traveling to Forgottonia...well, Lemont is the Forgottonia of Cook County (or is it the Barringtons/Inverness?)
I would also like to remind everyone that having 5 300 lbs OLmen doesn't guarantee a good OL. Kids that big need to grow into their bodies still, and are often recruited for their potential. Give me athletic 230-260 lb kids all day in HS.
BTW, I am not saying that ESL OL isn't good this year, i'm saying that I am sure they will reload next year, and while they might not be as big, they don't really need to be, in order to be successful in HS, especially in IL.
If You really stop and look at the situation, East Side O-Lineman McVay & Patterson were starters on 2019 Championship squad as freshman. I think we need to give credit to the O-Line Coach & The Whole Staff for developing these young men into the All American players they have become. It is my understanding that Henderson has only been playing football two years, and he also has developed into a high caliber player. So with that being said, the offensive line play and development has been the foundation of the All Gas No Brakes Moniker. I would bet my bottom dollar there will be a freshman or two starting next year, and again be developed into an AA by senior year.
ESL will be just fine on the O-line, Skill positions, Defense, etc. because Coach Sunk has put together a staff that is among the best in the state. Whenever I hear, "it's easy to win when you have all those D1 players" I just have to laugh 😂 It's not only disrespectful imo, it's downright childish.
Why is MC not holding the top 5 slots and eerbody else 6 and below? Also why is ESL so high? I mean, we only put a running clock on a team in a championship game that beat St. iggy the week before to get there. Let’s see, did MC put a running clock on St. Iggy? Again, it’s the disrespect received from folks like you that causes ESL to play as motivated as they did on yesterday.

When we win a close game: ESL is not that good, they allowed Lemont to play with them and almost beat them.
When we blow an opponent out like yesterday: They were just men against boys; that’s just a shame that they are that much more athletic. It’s distasteful that they didn’t pull their starters (some Seniors, but mostly Sophomores and Juniors) in the last game of the year?

Not really wanting to get in a drawn out debate, but esl and lwe had a common opponent. Lwe won by 26. Esl won by 45.
Would have been more if the clock didn’t start running in the 3rd Qtr.
Running up the score on a weaker opponent might get you a higher ranking in the newspaper. But what does it make you a better human being?

You and the other guy who was pining for more playing time for the backups backup in the state championship game probably should focus on r3c league sports. You don't seem to have the stomach for competitive hs sports.
Lwe, mc and loyola all had multiple games where they won by 42+ pts. Are you questioning whether they are decent human beings?
Whats always funny to me is theres one faction of the board that thinks esl only beat eville by 3 scores so they must not be one of the best teams in the state. Then when they win by 40 ppl like you make these ridiculous comments

You do realize that when esl doesnt beat nv, batavia, eville etc by 30+ people often use margin of victory as a way to discredit how good esl is?
