Last night 3-loss Lakewood St. Edward beat the undefeated best team in the state, Cincy Colerain, in the D1 state final at the Pro Football HOF stadium in Canton, 24-10.

Ed’s had a similar run to Loyola’s run of MS, LWE, BR in that they avenged two of their losses (Cleveland St Ignatius and Mentor) on the road to the championship.

For you East Side fans....Massillon Washington lost the D2 final to Akron Hoban. Hoban won its 4th straight title.

Based on following the game thread on here I’d have to agree.

Outside of their rivalry game against Canton McKinley the ESL game was their closest of the season.

In the championship Hoban was boat racing them in the first half. 34-7 at halftime. Washington came out with an onside kick recovery to open the second half. They got back to within 34-28 before Hoban finally won 42-28.

For those of us that witness that game a lot can be said. But will stick to the facts, I have said since the beginning of the season the Flyers didn't have a good defense. will leave it at that.
