I was thinking maybe a Cardinals avoidance strategy, since he seems to the lock at #4...might not be sold on working with Kyler Murray or other issues.

Also had one of the area's few baseball/football playing fields. A possible #7 is Cristo Rey San Martin now has a turf soccer field. Though it would be spreading thin talent in NE Lake even thinner, maybe they sneak into the Red while Aurora Catholic dithers.

If you could bring back one program....

I just think Weber had a lot of competition in its diasporal pathways (Viator, ic, Dris, NND, HC-Gue, LA and publics in associated suburbs) and competition for becomng a MC/SR type campus in the changing FW/NW side. and GT had the advantage of being closer to the gentrifying north lakefront...

He has to add "running" to it, or else yeah I see your point. It's probably more region based expectations, Love and Stroud (+ Bryce Young) are from SoCal and they're keen on staying in pocket for as long as it takes.

Who's the backup qb in Houston? Much like Mac Jones now backing Trevor Lawrence, he could swallow pride and be open to being a multithreat 2nd string alongside former teammate Stroud. Fields could pull it off here, but I think a different team helps.

Unless Fields is open to being a slash like player, this might actually be his ceiling in terms of trade return.

Wayyyyyy to early 2024 programs to lookout for!

If Driscoll had survived, they probably would be the prime beneficiary of the South Elgin uncertainty.

    JJ McCarthy to draft

Rams would be a good spot for JJ, but I wonder if they are back to having their normal 7 picks yet. Stafford is not getting younger, but there should be a 3 year overlap plus McVay and their knack for finding day 2 and 3 receivers.

What sport has the worst parents?

This, plus the general respect I have for expenses paid in and putting work in for "athletic skills PLUS mastering ice skating (though that should be vice versa), made me vote baseball I/o hockey.

    NYT on JJ

He ain't piss poor, though he could get a much better deal than the tractor kid in Blue Chips. for the most part the vast majority of D1 revenue sports athletes, even from modest and or non-legacy athlete backgrounds would "fail" the 70s/80s NBA hardship test for underclassmen.

Against the Bears? Unless the Bears are pulling a Craig Counsell. True ... would you move D Wright or to RG? D Wright wore down as the season wore on and also looked as "short-armed" as that local kid many didn't want to take in the draft.

I still think some public relations needle-threading or triangulation is behind the push for C. Williams versus D. Maye.
