Eisenhower won in the South Suburban Red as AJ Abrams had five catches for 132 yards and two scores. He’s amazing. Heck of an athlete. Argo had two receiving TDs from Javoris Cotton and a rushing TD by Steve Holmes.

    Benet 20, DLS 12

Myles Green scored on a 57-yard fumble recovery and a 78-yard kickoff return for host De La Salle (2-3). Full credit to Benet for the win. They’ve a very nice team. The Meteors battled their butts off. Both teams with great efforts. Keep your heads up, DLS!

Thanks for the kind words regarding the Meteors. Hope you're right! Jason and Aidan Ralph are big-time football players. Would love to see Jason play DI ball somewhere.

    Worn out sports terms...

Moving forward - Just say "in the future" or "next season." Running backs running "downhill." Is the player starting on some type of ramp? And "culture." Unless a team or program is creating its own brand of yogurt, please leave culture for another word.

North Central vs UW-Whitewater D3 Title

Another cool story angle for the D-3 title game is two brothers who graduated from De La Salle will be playing against each other. Tommy Coates is a receiver for North Central and Michael Coates is a tight end for UW-Whitewater. Whitewater also has Jimmy Guttillo, another D kid on the roster...

    Multi-Sport Football players

Four football players are expected to play basketball for De La Salle this season, including Jason Moore. Football is his future in college, but Moore's a nice basketball player who brings great energy and spark off the bench. These kids will help us.

The CCL/ESCC Prognostication Thread - Week XIV

As a neutral observer and with our kids having played both teams this season, I'm eager to watch the MC-Nazareth game. Just as someone who really enjoys high school football, I think this is going be a hell of a good game. Should be fun. McCarthy and Nazareth's offense can put up points and...

The CCL/ESCC Prognostication Thread - Week XIII

Laurence up 7-0 at half and remained that way until late third quarter. STL running back had two TD runs over 50-plus. He and the Laurence QB are excellent football players. They're legit. Our kids battled. Proud of the effort. Looking forward to next season. Jason Moore is going to have a...

The CCL/ESCC Prognostication Thread - Week XIII

I know. I was there. Just think it's not as easy for a team to beat someone twice in a season. Laurence has a really good team and its QB is who makes them go. He's a fine player. Just think the Meteors will show up this time.

The CCL/ESCC Prognostication Thread - Week XIII

Just like last week, DLS' record is inaccurate. Meteors are 5-6. Please change at your convenience. And a 25-point dog? Wow. That's all I'll say. Thanks.

one friday night game this weekend

For those of you who really want to see a game, may I suggest the Catholic League Prep Bowl semifinal between De La Salle and Ignatius at 630 pm? Game played at De La Salle's new field, we have some outstanding concessions and it should be a very competitive game. Free parking, too :)

    Top running backs,any class

Agreed. But he's had a hell of year playing RB, WR and QB for our guys as well as at corner. He had 289 yards of offense against MC. Decent size, he can fly and he has a great heart. Playing physical football is just fine with him. He's also a solid kick returner. Some college is going to get...
