Does anyone know the new divisions for CCL/ESCC for 2024? They are changing after one year.

Eight (8) Playoff teams on this years schedule, with four (4) of them being finalists, and two (2) being state champs was tough enough for me w/o petitioning up and additional class.

    CCL/ESCC Program Health

If you look at fig 1 they show 11 main ones. Most of my college friends taught for the CPS. A lot of their kids now work for the CPS. This has been in the works (Karen Lewis) for a long time. If this happens it will a big influx to CCL/ESCC schools. And the families that are mobile I see...

Rochester Rockets oppose new IHSA football rules

Have to agree. This will be a lot of work with so many unanswered questions. I'm sure there was a lot of eye rolling in Bloomington when the was proposed.

Rochester Rockets oppose new IHSA football rules

Actually the school called me off of this project. It looks like most of the kids who tested live in within the SW quadrant of the six mile ring the school was targeting. But since I showed an interest in fund raising they asked me to help with the reformed aviation club. The school actually...

Rochester Rockets oppose new IHSA football rules

Maybe I'm misreading it but I think he means in the context of thread on districts people want guaranteed wins or easy paths to the playoffs. ""people who want guaranteed out comes ""

There are 11 selective enrollment high schools in the CPS. There is a divide after the top five. In order top down are Walter Payton, Northside Prep, Jones, Whitney Young and Lane Tech.

IHSA - District Proposal - Official Language

Yes but it's not many. IF the proposal passes I'm hearing from two CPS asst. coaches, who have full time jobs away from the CPS, that the better teams will play in the district format BUT the other teams will just play in several in-house conferences. There is no budget for transportation...

IHSA - District Proposal - Official Language

Those CPS conferences are already excluded from the playoffs. If this passes I think the top tier CPS will participate. If one of the lower tier team went 9-0 they would not go to the playoffs now if you look at the Chicago Public, Blue-Central Conference Standings no one played a full 9 game...

IHSA - District Proposal - Official Language

The CCL realigned their conferences for next year before the season was over. Everyone was told to schedule their weeks one and two games asap. The crossover game are done in pencil but let's see if this proposal passes.

Article in the Tribune today that selective enrolment schools in the CPS may turn into regular High Schools. If that were to happen the Catholic schools would reap a lot of those students. The Magnet schools were the one bright light in the CPS.

IHSA - District Proposal - Official Language

This make life easier for some AD’s who have trouble keeping their conferences together. Everyone is looking for five easy wins for playoff qualification. But this makes life much harder for a lot of other people. More than half of the CPS doesn’t pay full underclassmen schedules. You are...

On December 17, 2019 District football was repealed

No! Over and under 345 against and 255 for it. Once people saw what it looked like last time they did not want it. I don't think they did a good job of selling it to the people who voted against it last time. Steve Soucie was interviewed today. If you listen to the entire broadcast the two...

    Soucie Districts

Sample ones were not official ones and it led to the motion to reconsider. That motion was by a public school members. There are already people lined up to do that motion again from the public side of this. The privates will let them take the lead on this.

7A district 8 - Moline to Belleview about 520 mile round trip! This is why if this passes it will be rescinded after the districts are posted by a motion to reconsider just like last time. Plainfield South to Belleview East 526 miles round trip. I see a HUGE problem if they start to make...

The best IHSA Football playoff formula

Strength of schedule has to be taken in account but it can be very subjective. One needs to look no farther than Nazareth Academy at (4-5). They beat 9-0 Prairie Ridge, 9-1 Glenbard South, 10-1 Carmel of Mundelein, and 10-2 Wheaton St. Francis.
