They don’t lose access to those guys. Nabers or Odunze will be there at 9. Also this is an incredibly deep draft for wide outs. I expect them to move out of 9. Stock pile picks and address wide receiver later. Worthy Leggette Thomas All very talented and NFL ready guys. Now that they got...

Then you would be much further away in your rebuild. Think of it this way, you can do both. He has drafted very well in the two drafts he has had. I’d expect him to trade 1 or 9 or both and get more picks. This is an exceptional draft for edges and wide outs. I’d expect he comes out with a...

Let’s see - addressed safety and depth at safety. Vastly improved No 2 WR and RB, improved depth on O Line, got a center. Not sure what else you would like him to do. Keep in mind after this season you’ll have to extend Moore and Jenkins. The draft is rich in WR and Edge talent. And every...

To make a trade for a franchise player the fee is 2, Number 1 picks. You think a WR that’s not even the best guy on his own team or in his own division is worth that?

This is a horrendous draft for safeties and a very good free agency for safeties this is an excellent signing. If you watch, and by reading this thread no one has, Poles has set the bar for what he will spend where. He did it with Johnson Byard and Swift. They have a ton of cap space left and...

It’s the first 90 minutes of free agency. The Bears sign a player better than anyone on the roster at that position and we are already asking if they are meeting their immediate needs? Really? Yes a signing just upgrade. If you take Fields out of the rushing numbers, Herbert Johnson and Foreman...

He is light years better than what is on this roster. It’s improvement - significant improvement.

Call me in the minority but what is the rush to get rid of fields? The thought they were gonna get a 1 or high two was silly then as it is now. Nothing says you have to move him. In terms of free agency tomorrow and this week will be fascinating. I don’t expect them to spend a ton on one...

Who was the last quarterback drafted first overall that won a Super Bowl? Who was the last Heisman qb to win a Super Bowl? Prior actions are not indicative of future results.

Penix? If that’s the answer to replace fields I’m worried what the question is.

I am not ruling anything out. If they move out of 1 they likely get a haul. Areas think they have to address in the draft - WR, Edge, Guard and Center. It’s a good draft for center and edge but after you get past the top 3 at wide out it’s a pretty big decline. I still think they move on from...

True but still believe if the 3 wide outs are done he is moving out of that pick. May do it anyway to get the guy he wants.

I Not me. I think it’s pretty much set that they are going to keep 1. Where I think it gets interesting is what do they do at 9? With no second round pick and the high likelihood that Nabers Harrison and Odunze are gone, I could see them trading down in the first round taking the center from...

    Tell us something….

I spent the day with Walter Payton at my HS my junior year. Not sure I’ve ever met a person quite like that before.

    A Tough SOB,,,,

You listen to national recruiters speak of HS football and Illinois isn’t in the discussion rarely if ever. To me it’s on par with Ohio Pennsylvania etc which are always mentioned. Florida Texas and Cal are what they are but Illinois should be in that next tier.

Yes - when I said “coming from Illinois,” I assumed everyone would think the state. Having been in this board for a while I should’ve known better

Clearly this team got better as the season went on but make no mistake, this team is still a ways away from being a playoff contender. Not a playoff team but a contender. They aren’t in the realm of even the same zip code as the niners or chiefs - yes they beat the Lions but Detroit is better -...

    A Tough SOB,,,,

The quality of kids coming from Illinois into the NFL continues to impress. What Nick did was remarkable. Cole Kmet playing the second half of a meaningless game with a broken arm. Illinois doesn’t get near the credit it deserves for the quality of player they are sending to the league.

Good hire for a long reasons. He has a long track record beyond Seattle - Belichek among them. I’d he brings Olson with him this will be a dynamite hire. Continue to build this thing and hit more than you miss.
