    Herscher has turf now, baseball and softball fields almost done.. new football building and football bleachers for next year.. something like $10M on athletic facilities, not bad for a 3A downstate school Heard Momence getting it next year

    Well Herscher has had their turf installed for about 6 weeks now... baseball and softball getting it installed now.. give it time... And when I look at the rosters at BB, Herscher and Manteno I see names of kids whose parents went to Mac, so most of the alumni are not sending their kids there..

    They won't close, but their days of being a sports power are likely done.. Kankakee, Bradley, Herscher and St Anne have turf, Momence is adding it next year.. Kankakee building a field house, Herscher spending close to $10 million on athletic facilities.. Manteno and Herscher are great school...

    Only 252 kids, but the way the last two decades have been there, baby steps... but that is great to see.. from a football standpoint, these state schools other than Illinois all rely on student fees .. already seen WIU drop down a notch and NIU is really struggling to fund their current sports...

    The problem in Illinois is that UICU, UIC and ISU are doing well... but NIU, EIU, SIU and EIU really struggling due to location, declining Illinois population and poor facilities..

    Well Sandwich beat Manteno by 20 and Peotone by 23... so the margin between tier 2 and tier 4 is rather small.. Maybe I am totally wrong, but I am not surprised if Herscher beats anyone outside of Wilmo and CC, two teams that should rough the Tigers up pretty well..
