What did we learn 2022 - it’s a wrap!?!?!?!

In a blur the 2022 season is over. My 50th in Illinois. Yah I’m old……

Here’s the remnants of 2022.

1 - That NFHS no longer serves a purpose. We in Illinois deserve nice things.
2. - That congrats are in order for the Panthers, Bulldogs, Knights, Cyclones, Roadrunners, Flyers, Caravan and Ramblers for being the best in class.
3 - That congrats are also in order for the Panthers, Vikings, Bullets, Celtics, Lions, Wolves, Bulldogs and Griffins on finishing second in class.
4 - That all gas and no brakes wasn’t about to let it happen again.
5 - That one of the real winners without a trophy in the post season was Mother Nature.
6 - That a fond farewell is in order to a legend. Congrats to coach Leonard on his retirement.
7 - That the gap this year between great and really good was wider than normal.
8 - That small school football is even cooler than I expected and Le-Win (yah I thought it was players names too) is at legend status.
9 - That despite the loss, Vacey had one of those, “I remember back when” kind of years.
10 - That only 271 days remain until we get to do this all over again.

Newt out.

St. Rita's Schedule

According to the website,

All Friday night games are slated for a 7:30 p.m. start, except Week 1 against Sandburg--7:00 p.m.

@ Sandburg
vs. Kenwood
@ JCA
@ MC
vs. Marmion
vs. LA
@ St. Francis
vs. Larry
@ BR

Tough schedule, IMO.

Way too early and ignorant analysis: SR favored in 5 games, even in 2 games, high single digit 'dog in 1 game and double-digit 'dog in another.

Can anyone guess?

CCL ESCC DIVISIONS/SCHEDULES - new thread

Lots of speculation on other thread - not a lot of info has been confirmed.

I'm seeing ST Rita schedule is posted - which leads me to believe they know what has happened (if the schedule posted is in fact correct).

Has it been determined yet who will be in what divisions? Crossovers?

If not already happened, does anyone have a date that it will happen?

NOT INTERESTED IN WHAT YOU THINK SHOULD HAPPEN - SEE OTHER THREAD IF YOU WANT TO PLAY THAT GAME.

This Public/Private Debate I think I have the answer. POLL.

Maybe this was already brought up maybe not? I have been reading the back and forth debates. Sometimes harsh.

What if the IHSA did this to level the playing field for both Publics and Privates. You can’t argue unfair.

Use the Rankings to decide what level you play in the playoffs.

Top 10 teams ranked in the state automatically play in 8A playoffs.

11 thru 20 play in 7A

21-30 play in 6A.

All other schools play based on enrollment Publics and for Privates Multipler is still in affect. Basically if your not ranked in the top 30 you play exactly how the IHSA had it now.
This would have the best play each other in the division they should based on how they are ranked in the state.
Is ESL/SHG etc would or could play LWE/LA/MC/MS/Warren etc. if a public is ranked lower they will be moved down just like a private school. Again if your the best in the state your playing in the playoffs based on how your ranked!

Okay let me hear you! 😊
