Bears

I was thinking the Bears would run the ball more today too for obvious reasons. Indy came into the game dead last in the NFL against the run. The Packers absolutely destroyed them on the ground last week. But, yes. You do need a good OL to run the ball. However, it seemed like the Bears really had no interest in the run. It wasn't like Indy was blowing them out at any point. Why throw the ball that with a line that can't and wasn't protecting the QB? AND as many of you stated. The play calling was horrible.

Bears

Well, you guys got your "generational talent" of a QB...
Not sure who you mean. My original thought was to draft Harrison first, then take Penix if he was still there with the second pick. Don't know how that would have worked out. Let's not bury Williams yet. That's the trouble with guys like you. The guy gets thrown into the mess right away. He was named the starter without actually having to compete for the job. Maybe he will still be good. But, it's hard to imagine when he is running for his life on half the plays and feeling pressure before he even sets up on the other half.

I agree 100%. Yesterday was awful. Awful! Changes do need to be made or this will go completely off the rails. It was so bad. But the only thing they can do is change some things and move on. Can't harp on this too long. There is another game to play soon enough.

What HS team do you root for

Mount Carmel- Honesty moment I use to hate MC as a kid, Also I didn't know anything about them besides they were a all boy school. but as an adult I learned to love them for what they have to offer young men, And the professional pedigree of all there sports.

Nazareth - They are consistent

Byron- Small school that Runs the rock, I admire there tradition and wish they were 6A school with some with a massive line.

East Side-

St. Rita 31 @ St. Francis 13 Final

I can't believe I'm defending MC, but they've also played an exceptional schedule thus far with the notable exception of the letdown last week. I think the D is vulnerable, but also not as bad as it looks. Wouldn't be surprised if it gets figured out by week 10
Great point. All the teams mentioned directly or alluded to in this thread, St. Rita, St. Francis, Mt. Carmel and Nazareth will, like many other IHSA Football tournament teams, be different animals come week 10. Here’s to a great next 5 weeks leading up to playoff football.

If MC would have beaten Hun, every conversation would be different. It would be Naz and Iggy are so good, they hung with MC. But now it’s “the sky is falling” on Dante. 🙄. For the record, we did also score the most points in history against Hun. 😉
